The Mess

This series of four traditional ink drawings interprets scenes from The Mess 101: Prima Facie, a dystopian speculative fiction work blending screenplay and prose. Using dip pen and ink technique, I explore the fragmented urban psyche, vertical class divisions, and emotional isolation within the hyperstratified city of Queen. The limited black and teal palette reinforces themes of detachment, decay, and resilience. Rather than literal depictions, each piece evokes the atmosphere and internal states of key characters—capturing moments of confrontation, collapse, and quiet resistance in a world ruled by corporate metanations.
